Why we built this
The spreadsheet wasn't cutting it.
I built PlanFare because I was tired of the same routine: open Google Sheets before every trip, copy last year's budget template, manually convert currencies, lose track of who paid for what, then come home with no idea if we actually stayed on budget.
After building MagicCost Planner for Disney vacations, I realized the same problems exist for every kind of trip — weekend getaways, work trips, road trips, cruises.
